A bit about Kinsley
You have never seen such friendly people in your life! A stranger actually came up to us and spoke to us in a cafe. That is unheard of in a big city!Kinsley, Kansas is half way between New York City and San Francisco. I actually did not measure the distance, but that is what the sign says.We are smack in the middle of America's Vegetable Garden.. And A mess of beef here, too. We sure intend to eat our share of both.This is typical "Small Town America". No need to carry a gun to the grocery store. When we first came to town, all the shops in the town were decorated for the High School Homecoming Game. I haven't seen that in 50 years.We are on US Highway 50, about 35 Miles east of Dodge City. The real home of The Old West. Lots of museums and historical things to see. Be alert, and don't try any funny stuff, because they will still run you out of Dodge. IF you get run out of Dodge City, you can hide out in Kinsley. You will enjoy it.The Eisenhower museum is not far away. The home of one of America's greatest heroes. You can never tire of learning about his accomplishments.Here are some of the services in the area and things you may enjoy doing.
